‘Rang, Raakh aur Rishtey’ | Vipin Singh Rajput’s Landmark Solo at DRS Arts Company®, Ahmedabad
DRS Arts Company® is proud to present Rang, Raakh aur Rishtey, a landmark solo exhibition and debut show in Gujarat by Chhattisgarh-based artist Vipin Singh Rajput, on view from 1st to 15th August 2025 as part of the ongoing Future of Indian Art series. Curated by Chaitya Dhanvi Shah, this exhibition marks a significant moment in Vipin’s journey as one of the strongest emerging voices in Indian contemporary abstraction.
From works measuring 5 inches to 8 feet, Vipin demonstrates remarkable control over size, medium, material, texture, line, and form. This expertise becomes the foundation of a new voice in Indian abstraction. His deeply emotional approach transforms old sarees, jute, rice paper, copper wire, nails, burnt paper, wood, fabric, thread, and ash into meditative visual languages. These materials are chosen not merely for their appearance, but for their ability to hold memory, time, texture, and truth.
The exhibition unfolds in three interlinked series:
- Smriti-Sutra holds memory in fragile fibres, scorched surfaces, and layered textures, revealing life as lived through fragments.
- Prakriti-Drishti captures nature as emotion, bird’s-eye geometries, floating forms, and inner landscapes converge into poetic abstraction.
- Bandhan-Sutra binds material, body, and emotion through nails, wires, and pulp, symbolising the invisible ties that hold us together.
This exhibition is a tactile journey through memory, material, and meaning.
